Update: Gracie girl is in the end of cycle one. The main thing we’re doing is waiting for her ANC (white count) to come back up so we can get bone marrow and get ready for cycle 2. It’s really taking a while but our physicians and team assure us this is normal. This is definitely a marathon and not a sprint. It’s hard not to rush to what’s ahead and get overwhelmed. She’s definitely a champ. More smiles, more talking. One funny moment, she was watching a Minnie Mouse cartoon and the little bird burped. That got a belly laugh and then a chuckle whenever she thinks about it. We’ll work on being lady like later but right now burping brings a lot of laughter. 😂
ending thought: the ups and the downs have come in waves. I was recently given a book by Ann Voskamp (1000 gifts). I had some moments of despair or feeling down. This book kept coming to mind because she talks about eucharisteo and most recent chapter hard eucharisteo (grace, thanksgiving and joy In the hard times). I start looking for the blessings in those moments and God feels so much closer and despair fades because He has given me so much more than I ever deserve. Every moment with my family is a gift.
